Public Employee Art Exhibit

CALL TO ARTISTS for the Public Employee Art Exhibit
Deadline: Monday Oct. 4th 2021 at 11:59 P.M.

The perception of public employees may be, and we hope it is, that they are interested and passionate about helping the community. Working 40 hours a week they strive to make Las Vegas a better place for everyone, but what do they think about when they are off the clock? In this exhibit we hope to showcase public employees for their other passions. How does real life compare to childhood dreams? Do you want to travel the world? Own your own farm? Do you want to have a large family? Did you just start producing art as an adult? Whenever or however these ideas came about, this exhibit is an opportunity to explore your passionate dreams that may be hiding in the depths of your thoughts…while using the most outrageous colors, lines, shapes, values, textures, or whatever else you invent. We want to see what drives public employees in their lives outside of work!

The Public Employee Art Exhibit is open to any artist employed by the state, county or city government who reside in Nevada. Retired public employees are eligible to enter. Up to two pieces entered for consideration. We strongly encourage artists to enter new work for this show. All artists outside of Las Vegas must be able to drop off or send the chosen curated artwork by the drop off date. A professional artist team, who lives and works in the community, will curate this exhibit.

The exhibit will be located at Las Vegas City Hall in the Chamber Gallery Thursday, October 21, 2021 through January 13, 2022. The gallery has a cable hanging system: all two-dimensional work will have a size limit of no more than 36″ in either direction. The weight of the two-dimensional work must stay at or below 40 lbs. A limit of six sculptures will be accepted into this exhibit based on available pedestals, covers and space limitations. Sculptural work must stay in the range of 16″ (W) x 16″ (L) x 28″ (H). No free standing work will be permitted. Only original artwork will be accepted. The artwork must be turned in ready to exhibit. All two-dimensional work must have either D-rings or wire on the back.

To enter the exhibit, upload each image under its own entry – http://artsregistrylas.vegas/. Important: In the description area of each entry, please indicate the exhibit title: Public Employee Art Exhibit, artist name, contact information (phone & email), title of artwork (or untitled), medium, dollar value for insurance, and dollar value for sell price and size of the artwork in inches. The last day/time to upload your images to be considered for this exhibition is Oct. 4th 2021 by 10:00 A.M. PCT.

To enter, each applicant will need to login to an already created account or create a new account in order to participate, using the city of Las Vegas Fine Art Exhibit Opportunities site, http://artsregistrylas.vegas/calls/, under the “Public Employee Art Exhibit” call for submissions (site works best using Google Chrome). Click the title of the exhibit and it will take you to a submission page.
